In American Horror Story Season 6 episode 4, which airs at 10 p.m. EDT Wednesday, Matt and Shelby are still being terrorized in their home, even after being directed to leave by the Butcher.
There is considerable strife with Lee’s daughter Flora still missing. Lee was arrested at the end of episode 3 , likely charged with the murder of her ex-husband, Mason, who was found burned at a stake of sorts after he threatened to tell the police Lee kidnapped Flora.
A medium, Cricket Marlow, has assisted the family in trying to find Flora, who has been kidnapped by a spirit named Priscilla. While we have not yet seen this spirit, we know she is connected to the Butcher. Cricket Marlow told Lee about the history of the Butcher during episode 3.
In life she was named Tomasyn White and was the wife of the governor of the British colony called Roanoke. Alluding mystery of the colony that vanished from Roanoke, Tomasyn White supposedly moved the colony to area where Matt and Shelby’s home is located and is now haunting the area in death, wanting the couple and some nearly hillbillies off her land.
In episode 4, Matt and Shelby are at odds after Shelby discovered Matt in the woods having sex with a woman called the Horned Soultaker. However, Matt does not remember these events.
While their home continues to be haunted, Shelby encounters something terrifying in their shower and also attempts to use the term “Croatoan” to ward off something chasing her.
Will the latest Roanoke terrors force Matt and Shelby to leave their home? We will find out during coming episode, called “Chapter 4,” which is best viewed on television or live online through FX Now.
