In Pretty Little Liars Season 7 episode 6, which airs at 8 p.m. EDT Tuesday, the Liars have to deal with the possibility at Elliott Rollins/Archer Dunhill may not actually be dead. In a sneak peek for episode 6, Hanna receives a call from a random phone she finds in her purse. She has no idea how the phone got there, but the caller on the other line has a distinct British accent, much like Rollins/Dunhill and tells her “the next time you try to bury someone, make sure they’re dead.”
The Liars have been on edge ever since episode 3, when Hanna accidentally ran Rollins/Dunhill over as she drove with Aria, Spencer and Emily searched for Alison (whom Rollins/Dunhill kidnapped). They buried him in a wooded area and ditched the car, which fremey, Mona later had detailed to remove evidence of the accident (Rollins/Dunhill went through the windshield).
Aria and Emily then discovered in episode 5, the person they believed was Elliott Rollins is actually called Archer Dunhill and had assumed the identity of a dead man. They also connect Archer Dunhill with “AD,” which is how their new “Uber A” stalker signs the threatening texts he or she sends to the Liars. The Liars discover in this episode that Archer Dunhill may not be dead and that he may have a connection to Jenna Marshall, Sara Harvey and Noel Khan.
Alison is struggling with having been deceived by Dunhill and vents her frustrations to Emily in another episode 6 sneak peek. She and Dunhill got married in Season 6; however, during much of Season 7 so far, Dunhill has been responsible for keeping her captive in a mental institution, while he posed as Elliott Rollins.
It has come to light, in recent episodes that Dunhill drugged Alison to make her appear sick. In episode 3, she escaped Welby State Psychiatric Hospital, but Dunhill caught up to her. She was able to escape his captive again by jumping out of the car he was driving. When he chased her, Hanna ultimately hit him with her car.
However, we already know how Dunhill could still be alive. It possible that Dunhill wasn’t the person Liars hit and buried. In the Season 6 finale, we learn that Dunhill was tricking Alison into thinking she was hallucinating dead people by wearing a life-like mask that looked like deceased detective, Darren Wilden.
It is possible the person they hit was someone else wearing an Archer Dunhill mask. But who? We will find out in the upcoming episode, called “Wanted: Dead Or Alive,” which is best viewed on television or live online through Freeform Live . The episode may bring some answers as a promo shows someone wearing a mask and Alison pulling the mask off in struggle.
Meanwhile, Aria has a tough decision to make after Ezra asked her to marry him at the end of episode 5. Now that the Liars know Archer Dunhill may be alive and someone else is dead, Aria is concerned she may not be able to accept Ezra’s proposal if she goes to prison for murder.
The episode 6 synopsis also reveals someone else will die. Emily will reveal to Alison that the Liars told AD she killed her cousin, Charlotte to free Hanna from their captive. After the ominous phone call, Hanna considers confessing to the police.
