A brand-new update is out for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt HD Reworked Project. The mod's creator, Halk Hogan, uploaded a video showcasing the updated visuals for The Witcher 3 thanks to his mod. There are some major adjustments being made to the 12.0 Ultimate mod which will be revealed soon.
“Hello my friends! I hope you all are well and safe,” Hogan, the modder who tirelessly worked on the mod, stated in the video above. “Here is a preview of some reworked characters in HDRP 12.0 "Ultimate". Stay tuned, next video which shows some reworked Geralt gear coming soon! I may also say more about the release date. See you soon!”
In the video, the modder teased many visual changes such as realistic materials, higher quality textures, more detailed surfaces, character details, and much more he has yet to reveal. He announced that this would be his final work on modding The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which has been praised throughout the community.
The best part of the mod is that it is not demanding on older systems. You can easily run The Witcher 3 with the HD mod with no lag on a graphics card with 3GB of VRAM. If you have a better system with 4K monitors, you can immerse yourself into the visually stunning world even more.
Some of the features implemented in the mod’s latest update are:
- 4K high-quality detailed textures with amazing sharpness and almost no performance drop, it also doesn’t require much VRAM compared to the original game.
- High quality meshes with a great amount of detail
- Most meshes are created from scratch
- Better level of details for objects
- Rendering scale increased
- Customized Objects/Materials for the rework
The Witcher 3 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The next update for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt HD Reworked Project will be released later this summer.
So, what are your thoughts on The Witcher 3’s visual mod? Do you think older games should get remaster/mods to bring them back to life? Personally, I would love to play older games with updated visuals to walk down memory lane. Whatever your thoughts may be, let us know in the comments below.
