WWE Tap Mania has just released, combining everyone’s favorite WWE Superstars with the world of idle games, sometimes known as incremental games or clicker games. We’ve only just started playing, but already have a few tips to get your game up and running.

If you are unaware of what idle games are, the point is to level up your game so that it basically plays itself while you are away. When you come back, you’ll have some big prizes waiting for you, thanks to the Superstars you’ve collected so far.

Getting Started

Once you open up WWE Tap Mania, you’ll be thrown into a tutorial with John Cena. Follow along with what Cena tells you to do, and you’ll have a pretty basic understanding of how the game works. Your character is always at the bottom of the screen, and to attack, simply tap on the big wrestler that you're facing.

Leveling Up

It’s important to keep you and your fellow teammates leveled up as much as possible. That said, priority should always go to your Superstar instead of any others. The catch here is that your Superstar ends up costing way more money to level up than anyone else. Whenever you see an opportunity to level your Superstar up, take it. Wait until you can reach the next upgrade to power-level the other Superstars up. The next upgrade is anywhere from five to twenty levels away, so be sure to keep that in mind.

You’ll also earn money even when you aren’t playing the game. Every time you come back to WWE Tap Mania , the game will tell you how much money you’ve earned while away, and it will give you the option of doubling your earnings by watching an ad.

Perks and Outfits

Aside from leveling up characters with the money you earn, you can also upgrade your Superstar with different clothes and perks. The clothing is pretty straightforward. To access the different items of clothing, click the “Superstar” tab in the bottom left corner. From here, click on your character’s profile picture. You can change what your Superstar looks like, and also put on different items of clothing you unlock. Each item lists the upgrade you get from wearing it.

Perks are permanent upgrades that don’t go away when you Prestige (more on that later). Make sure you spend your perks on the upgrades that add to your character’s damage. While you can also upgrade your health, that hasn’t been a concern for me so far while playing.

Money In The Bank

The Money In The Bank briefcase will occasionally dangle down from the top of the screen. When it does, be sure to click on it. This will either give you a decent chunk of money for nothing, or give you the option to watch a commercial for a large chunk of money. While watching the ads are a bit annoying, this does give your fingers a bit of a rest while you earn some major cash. I’d recommend putting the game down every now and then to play an ad, just for the break you give yourself and the money you can earn.

Main Event

Each stage is broken up into 10 fights. The first nine are all basic fighters, with the 10th fight being the “Main Event.” These fights only last 30 seconds, so you’ll need to make sure you’re ready to go when you get there. Make sure you save your Superstars’ special abilities for tough Main Events so you can pass on the first try.

If you fail a Main Event fight, that’s OK. You can grind out extra money by fighting weaker fighters, and when you think you’re ready to try again, click the “Enter Main Event” banner in the middle of the screen. This will jump you right into the Main Event for the level you are on.

Prestige

Players have the option to Prestige their character after they reach level 100 for the first time. John Cena will pop back up and walk you through the process. What this means is you will reset your character and the other Superstars on your team, but gain some permanent buffs in the process. This makes going through all the stages you already went through even easier. To see how much your strength will increase after you Prestige, click the “Superstar” tab, then the “Prestige” tab.

By Prestiging your character, you also have the opportunity to change your character’s fighting type. There are five types: Showboat, High Flyer, Powerhouse, Brawler and Technician. Try each one out to see which play style best fits for you.

Tapping Tips

It seems a little silly to give advice on how to tap your phone screen, but that’s pretty much the whole game of WWE Tap Mania. One technique that seems to help when I need to tap as fast as possible is to drum my fingers from one hand on the screen, like you do on a desk or table when you are bored. This will allow you to get four taps off in quick succession.

These tips should get you started in WWE Tap Mania the right way. However, as we play more, we’ll be sure to note any more advanced tips and tricks we run across.
