When talking about Dota 2, it is impossible not to include Nuengnara "23savage" Teeramahanon in the conversation. After all, he has proven time and again that he can be a “savage” player in the pro scene. In case you’ve missed it, in March last year, he became the first player in the history of the game to ever breach the 12K MMR. But now, he broke that record by reaching the 13K marker on the leaderboards (as if the previous feat is not already glorious on its own).
There is no question that 23savage’s grind on the Dota 2 MMR ladder is insane. His achievements seem to be impossible to reach by anyone (other than him, of course) who has tried to climb in the Southeast Asia server. It holds true that a good number of players and fans alike complain about how chaotic and toxic the game has become, but 23savage – who plays position one or carry for Talon Esports – proved that no feat is impossible if you put your mind into it.
In Dota 2, the MMR rating system is used by Valve to rank players and teams. Players are assigned an MMR rating based on their performance in Ranked matches. MMR ratings range from one to 13,000, with the highest rating being reserved for the best players in the game – a ranking only 23savage has reached so far. Mind you, though, he achieved this by playing for three weeks, 24/7.
In previous years, one could say that reaching the 13K MMR mark is a pipedream, especially since almost everybody was struggling to reach even the 12K MMR (though we now know that that, too, is possible). Interestingly, there are other players who could soon join the bracket. These are namely, Danil "gpk" Skutin, Cheng "NothingToSay" Jin Xiang, Quinn "Quinn" Callahan, Illya "Yatoro" Mulyarchuk, and Souliya "JaCkky" Khoomphetsavong.
Reaching 13K MMR is a major accomplishment for 23savage, and it is a testament to his skill and dedication to the game. He is one of the most accomplished Dota 2 players in the world, and his achievement is sure to inspire countless others to strive for the same level of excellence.
