After successful screenings at film festivals, including the Toronto International Film Festival and Fantastic Fest, The Autopsy of Jane Doe is ready to splatter across screens nationwide. In anticipation of the Dec. 21 release date (a perfect Rogue One chaser), The Autopsy of Jane Doe now has a red band trailer.
The Autopsy of Jane Doe stars Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch as a father-son coroner team. Tasked with conducting an autopsy on an unknown “Jane Doe” corpse, the two uncover a supernatural mystery. Soon they’re trapped in the crematorium with an unnatural force.
The first trailer plays up some of the horror elements, but festival reviews have described the real pleasures of The Autopsy of Jane Doe as emerging from the interplay between Brian Cox and Emile Hirsch, two actors far above your typical IFC Midnight horror movie.
The Autopsy of Jane Does looks to end 2016 on one final gush of gore, joining ranks with Hush, Don’t Breathe and The Conjuring 2 to make this year a better year for horror than the last.
