Bubble Bobble 4 Friends is the latest addition in the widely popular Bubble Bobble series. The game now includes a four-player co-op mode in order for players to have more fun with friends. This new incarnation also lets players earn special skills by collecting letter bubbles that form the word "extend." This adds to the game's strategic depth while also increasing its replayability. There are also a lot more features for players to discover and tinker with as they journey across new worlds. Collectors can also look forward to the extensive yet limited Collector's Edition of Bubble Bobble 4 Friends.
The original Bubble Bobble was considered the most innovative and popular platformer during the 1980s. These are just some of the reasons why Bubble Bobble became the iconic cult game that it is. In this game, the twins Bub and Bob need to free their girlfriends who have been captured by the nasty baron. The brothers need to hop across differently arranged platforms totaling 100 colorful levels while shooting bubbles at enemies. During the 1980s, and even through the 1990s, players got the chance to play the game in solo mode or the two-player co-op mode. Since then the game has been ported to at least 20 different platforms including the c64, Sega Mega Drive, and even the NES Classic Mini.
Bubble Bobble was created by Taito Corp, now a subsidiary of Square Enix. Taito has been responsible for a number of games that have made their mark in history like Space Invaders. Recent games released by Taito include Left 4 Dead: Survivors and Arkanoid vs. Space Invaders.
