Looks like there's another reason for kids to play. Gigantosaurus: The Game is all set to be launched on March 27 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Nintendo Switch. This is the first video game to be released based on the TV series of the same name.
Developed by Cyber Group Studios, the Gigantosaurus TV series was released in January 2019 as part of the Disney Junior block. The show is based on the bestselling book by author Jonny Duddle and focuses on four dinosaur friends Mazu, Tiny, Bill, and Rocky. The book, along with the series, shows the four exploring the world, working together to solve problems, and learn more about the fiercest and biggest dinosaurs of all.
So what's the game all about? Like the series, Gigantosaurus: The Game has players explore a large and prehistoric world. Kids join the four friends and take on quests while helping Gigantosaurus hopefully escape extinction. If the main game is too complex for the little gamers out there, they can get in a race kart and join a super rally to see who's the fastest dinosaur in town. It's not all about solo play, though, as like the book and the show, kids can play with up to three friends in co-operative adventures together.
“This new game represents a big step for us and the creation of high-quality kids’ interactive entertainment,” Terry Malham, CEO of Outright Games, said in a press statement. “Working closely with Cyber Group Studios and the full gamut of original assets from the hit show, allowed us to develop a game that truly feels like playing through an episode of the series.”
Meanwhile Cyber Group COO Dominique Bourse added that the partnership with Outright Games has resulted in "a great and innovative game for the whole family, mixing action, adventure, and racing and offering two multi-player modes (cooperative and competitive)." With the competitive and cooperative features, families can play together using the main characters of the show.
Gigantosaurus: The Game releases for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on March 27.
