The Flash Season 3 episode 15 was full of twists, turns, and one of the most brutal battles we've ever seen. One of our favorite characters is currently suffering a fate worse than death. Barry got stabbed through the chest, figuratively and literally. And the most dangerous speedster Barry has ever met who claims he’s ‘Future Flash’ and the god of speed plans to terrorize Central City. "The Wrath of Savitar" recap ahead.

Jesse Quick, Kid Flash, and The Flash are all racing so Wally can get faster. Afterword, Barry and Iris announce their engagement to the crew but Joe is curious why Barry didn’t ask his permission first like family tradition. Before Joe and Barry can really discuss, Cisco sends Barry and Wally out on a mission. They don’t get too far because Savitar comes out of nowhere and tackles Wally. Barry is confused because Savitar isn’t there, it’s just Wally’s mind tricking him.
After Wally admits he’s been having visions for a week and Barry makes him leave Star Labs, Cisco agrees to vibe Wally to Iris’ future death so he can be better prepared for the final battle. After Wally comes back, he realizes the only reason Barry asked Iris to marry him was because he thought it would change the future. Wally immediately tells the team the truth and Iris is pissed.
The team decides they need answers so they hook Julian up to the machine that summons Savitar to try and find his location, but quickly realize the stone is gone and Savitar isn’t in the box they threw into the speed force. But Caitlin tells Julian she actually kept a part of the Philosopher's stone so that means Savitar could be on Earth. They hook Julian up the machine again to pinpoint Savitar’s location and figure out he’s somewhere in Central City.
Meanwhile, Wally sees his mother, who reveals herself as Savitar. He taunts Wally and says he has everything he needs to escape his hell, except for one small piece of the Philosopher’s stone. Jesse Quick, watching this whole fake conversation, is very confused and goes and tells the team at Star Labs while Kid Flash runs off to protect the remaining Philosopher's stone.
Wally can’t open a portal to the speed force because he can’t run fast enough. But after an intense conversation with Savitar, Kid Flash creates a portal to the speed force and throws it in but he gets sucked in. His Kid Flash chest emblem falls to the ground. But wait, the portal opens back up and Savitar crawls out and says “I’m Free.” He reveals Wally has taken his place in the speed force, it’s apparently some old myth he learned about since he’s a god and all. The idea hit him because of flashpoint. "You gave me idea to turn Wally into Kid Flash and make him fast enough to place him in his prison. He never saw he was running right into the trap,” Savitar sayas.
The Flash and Savitar battle it out like grown speedsters. Savitar says, “If you could kill me, you would have done it in the future, but Barry Allen doesn't kill. I’m going to destroy this city like I did in the future, then you’ll treat me like a god. I am the Future Flash,” Savitar says as he stabs Barry through the chest and says he wants him to live long enough to see Iris die. Barry phases through Savitar’s sword-arm thing and runs away. Caitlin has to pull it out by hand back at Star Labs (definitely the worst injury on the Flash like ever).
CLIFFHANGER: So Savitar calls himself Savitar, the God of Speed, and Future Flash. Huh? Barry specifically asks Savitar, "Who are you?" Savitar straight up says, "Future Flash." Who is Future Flash in the comics? Read more about that here. Also, how will Barry save Wally? He'll attempt to enter the speed force himself, but the trailer for next week teases he'll cross paths with ghotsts of his past--Captain Cold, Firestorm, Grodd, and Eddie Thawne.
