Littlefinger picked the wrong family to mess with in Game of Thrones Season 7. The Stark girls are too smart to let that man destroy them.

And yes, I said girls, because Bran is too busy worrying about the realm to care about Winterfell.

Anyway, Littlefinger stopped being useful once he married Sansa off to Ramsay Bolton. It was the biggest mistake he made during his time on Game of Thrones, and it’s difficult to believe Littlefinger didn’t know Ramsay was a monster. Littlefinger only acts in his own best interest. (Maybe he assumed Ramsay would treat Sansa well because he needed her family name? But we digress.)

In Game of Thrones Season 7 episode 6, we see Arya play the “Game of Faces” with Sansa to see if she’s lying. It was odd to see Arya go full-on psychopath with Sansa. The girls have always had their differences, but they’re still family. Arya wouldn’t betray Sansa based on an old letter she wrote under duress.

While playing the “Game of Faces,” some things Arya said were off. For example, she made it seem like Sansa wasn’t upset over their father’s execution. However, young Sansa was visibly distraught and in tears after witnessing her father’s head. Pleading and crying, she had to be restrained after Joffrey announced his decision. It seemed like Arya was trying to pick at Sansa to get her to talk and reveal her intentions. It was almost as if Arya wanted to see if her older sister was scared of her and if she’d try to get rid of her.

I think that’s why Arya gave her the dagger after her the Game of Faces. Arya’s testing Sansa to see what she’ll do next. She must’ve seen Sansa visit Littlefinger after she found the note. Arya wouldn’t “follow where the enemy leads you,” like Brienne told Podrick. And if she did follow Littlefinger, it would be with purpose. Littlefinger was so obvious with his plan to try and create tension between the girls. Arya had to have caught on, right?

So what’s the endgame for Littlefinger? Well, Arya has caught on and Sansa is also skeptical of Littlefinger. Sansa will catch on to Littlefinger’s game. She’ll find the courage to confront Arya and ask her why she’s so cold towards her. Then Arya will let on to her plan and ask her what she’d like to do. Or Sansa will figure out it was Littlefinger who asked for the letter on her own and ask Arya to slice his throat with his own dagger.
