Good news for all competitive Genshin Impact players! HoYoverse is launching the first-ever international Genius Invokation TCG Tournament series titled "Astra Carnival: The Prince Cup" later this year. Players from different nations and regions around the world are invited to join six regional championships, along with a number of invitational tournaments. The prize pool of the tournament is at least $270,000.
As the first international tournament series of Genshin Impact, the goal of the Prince Cup is to give bigger stages for talented players and diverse fun for fans and gamers in and outside the game. Regionals in Korea, Europe, and North America start first with sign-ups for the wildcard competition now open.
It was early this year when the Genshin Impact Tavern community obtained the authority to conduct the first-ever "Cat's Tail Gathering" GITCG Tournament, a community tournament system held on Discord. For the upcoming Prince Cup, it's going to be an advanced tournament where talented players from different areas are brought together.
The Prince Cup consists of two parts, the first one being the six regional tournaments scheduled from June to September. After that, it's the three cross-regional invitationals in June, August, and December.
For each region, the top candidates from the "Cat's Tail Gathering" community tournaments, along with those from the wildcard competitions, compete for the regional championship. Players who advance to the quarterfinals compete on-site with the live broadcast on the official AstraCarnival Twitter, YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok channels.
Top regional candidates and top community tournament candidates may be invited to the invitationals and take part in exhibition games for the international audience.
While this tournament is indeed exciting, fans can also have a fun time because they can now register their very own non-official Genius Invokation TCG tournament and get support and guidance from HoYoverse.
Genshin Impact is a free-to-play open-world adventure RPG released in September 2020. The game offers players the chance to explore the world of Teyvat and its landscapes, stories, characters, and events.
Genius Invokation TCG was introduced last year, a card game which combines the fun of its element-based combat system mixed with strategy development. You get to compete against NPCs or other players using your collection of cards.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS.
