Developer 343 Industries is set to add a brand new feature to Halo Infinite that will introduce the new third-person mode.

The reveal of the upcoming November update has seemingly divided fans who are either eager to jump into it or are confused. The official Halo X account also showed a work-in-progress trailer highlighting the new mode.

New Third-Person Mode

One user said that 343 Industries was once a pioneer of gaming but is now chasing the trends of games that were made after it. They added that it was sad to see but noted that there was nothing that could be done.

Another user said that the addition of a third-person mode comes to Halo Infinite instead of new weapons, vehicles, or maps. However, fan responses elsewhere also showed some positive words for the newly revealed feature, according to Gaming Bible.

One user said that the upcoming third-person view actually looked really fun, based on the footage that they have seen. They added that it would be very nice to see the armor that they have equipped in Halo Infinite.

A separate user noted that the new feature looked really cool but argued that the character model should be a bit farther to the left of the screen. Some fans are questioning the negative comments on the feature and what the issue actually is.

Since the first game in the Halo franchise was released in 2001, the entire series has featured only the first-person view. However, some spin-off titles have taken advantage of different gameplay stylings, Comic Book said.

One user noted that they were unsure what to think about the addition of a third-person mode to Halo Infinite. They noted that they did not see what the new perspective would add to the game for players.

Halo Infinite Update

Another user tried to be respectful to the developers of the game but questioned why they wanted to add the new feature.

They noted that there are so many other major gameplay and UI stuff that 343 Industries could do. They argued that these would have required less manpower and are things that the game needed more.

More information was given by senior community manager John "Unyshek" Junyszek and Skybox Labs senior software engineer Colin Cove. During the Halo World Championship panel, they said that they will begin with third-person Firefight mode in a future update.

The duo clarified that the new perspective will be supported at the mode level and allow players to switch freely between first- and third-person views.

It is currently unclear whether or not it will be available in campaign mode or only available in multiplayer, according to IGN.
