First, visit a Forward Station or a “hub.” It doesn’t matter which one; they usually contain what’s referred to as a Loadout Station, including Tempest. It’s easy to spot, just look for the white lockers. Clicking on the Loadout Station will bring you to menu where you can equip your gear. Here you can swap out your weapons and armor to your liking.
You must make it to a Forward Station to change your armor. So if you’re out exploring, make sure you equip the proper armor before you head out.
