A new adventure game titled Islands of Winds is set to arrive on PC and PlayStation 5 in 2022. The game brings players to 17th century Iceland and puts them in a magical world with giant spiders, trolls, and a host of mythical creatures. Players take on the role of one Brynhild, a member of the Balance Keepers who draws her magical power from the natural world.
In a statement, Parity Creative CEO Maria Guðmundsdóttir shared that the game makes full use of the rich mythology that Iceland has to offer for players to have a new experience. She added that Iceland has a diverse landscape that makes it a good backdrop to the adventures of Brynhild. She went on to say that they’re excited to reveal more about this world in the coming months.
Going back to the game’s story, Brynhild is looking for her mentor Hrymja and along the way goes through nine different landscapes, each offering its own unique natural beauty. These include the Lava of Skjól, the Jökla lagoon, and the Obsidian Shore. Her journey has her face various legendary creatures like the powerful Bear King, the Guardian of the Sea Hafgúfa, and the elven lady Vör of the Oasis.
These encounters serve as the core gameplay which offers intriguing puzzles, rich story-telling, and extensive lore. Key features of this new adventure puzzle game are:

Island of Winds is the first game by Parity Creative House. This Icelandic studio is female-led and founded back in 2017. The studio was established in hopes of shaping the future of games by bringing visions to life with more parity and variety.
