Almost six years ago, "Islanders," one of the craftiest minimalist city builder games was released. Because of its unprecedented popularity, publisher Coatsink is now ready to bring a sequel, "Islanders New Shores."
The new game is now official and will be released to gamers soon, with the latest trailer showing off the new world building experience for fans to enjoy.
This new game has a lot to offer fan, and the good thing is that it would be available to multiple platforms including consoles and PC.
'Islanders New Shores' Drops New Trailer For Sequel Game
The bright and colorful world that fans loved in 2019's "Islanders" is returning for a sequel, along with a new publisher. "Islanders New Shores" has released its official announcement trailer, showcasing another return to the iconic minimalist city-building game.
However, this time, "Islanders New Shores" is going to be a larger expansion for gamers to enjoy while focusing on its original experience of building on a randomly generated island. Players are yet again given the chance to build their islands to the fullest and to maximize the space and its every nook and cranny to benefit its dwellers and visitors.
Coatsink is promising the same iconic experience with "New Shores" but has added massive upgrades that focuses on new challenges on building and strategizing for the island.
According to Eurogamer, "New Shores" is introducing new game mechanics for players called "boons," and it is a one-time power-up that is unlocked when accumulating a score as the game progresses. These boons may be used immediately or saved up as players advance to further stages and as challenges get harder.
Moreover, there are now two game modes available to choose from in this sequel game, as players may either choose to play the "High Score" mode or the "Sandbox" mode that has its separate save options.
'Islander's' Minimalist City Builder Goes Multi-Platform
The sequel is also offering as many as 44 unique building types to choose from, as well as seven new island properties for players to build from. Additionally, "Islanders New Shores" also offers a photo mode that is available with various filters, as well as a turntable camera for documenting progress.
Coatsink and The Station still have a lot to reveal regarding the sequel game, and the studios have not yet given an official release date. However, it has been claimed that it will be around this summer.
Moreover, "Islanders New Shores" will be available in multiple gaming platforms, which includes Steam for Windows PC, the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and the Nintendo Switch.
