Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX is just weeks away from release, so advertising has picked up on the web and in stores. In tandem with screenshot collages on the game’s Japanese site, pre-order cards have popped up at retailers everywhere.
First and foremost, take a look at these screenshots. Much like the images coming out of Japan last week, these contain a quick look at how key moments from each game have been remastered for current-gen hardware. For Kingdom Hearts Final Mix, for example, we see Sora’s first interactions with key characters like Ariel, Peter Pan, Genie and Aladdin. For Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain Of Memories, the emphasis is on Organization XIII and its nefarious deeds.
All in all, there’s nothing too earth-shattering to see here. The main point here is that Square Enix is getting its hype machine prepared for the new collection. More collages can be viewed at the source link above, but we suspect you’ve seen enough. While inviting new players is obviously important, what we’re seeing here is an obvious nostalgia play.
The same can also be said about the physical pre-order cards for 1.5 + 2.5 as well. As captured by @churroz on Twitter, the placard encourages gamers to “remember, relive [and] rejoice.” The card also promises “15 years worth of Kingdom Hearts with remastered adventures.” With six separate experiences to enjoy, there’s certainly a lot to play.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX comes to PS4 March 28. A limited edition pre-order is available now from the Square Enix store.
