Nintendo has debuted the latest trailer for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order, and it’s a big one, especially for fans of the franchise’s mutant family.
The past month has been mostly dominated by Game Informer’s various exclusives for Team Ninja’s upcoming title. It started with the introduction of newcomers Guardians of the Galaxy, which shows how Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will be greatly inspired by the success of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We then got trailers for some of the fan favorite characters, including Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Wolverine and Hawkeye. Yesterday was also pretty sweet, in that it debuted one of the first boss fights we will get to encounter in the game: the symbiote-powered anti-hero Venom, along with one of Spider-Man’s greatest nemeses, Electro.
This new trailer, however, is special for a number of reasons. For one thing, it confirmed some of the rumors that were surrounding the title with regards to the status of the X-Men. For the other, a lot of people just really, really love the X-Men. Check out their debut in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order in the trailer down below.
The trailer starts off with some characters being shown as possessing the Infinity Stones: Black Panther has the Soul Stone, Green Goblin has the Time Stone, Ultron has the Mind Stone, and Ghost Rider with the Reality Stone. It then segues into the X-Mansion being destroyed by fan-favorite Magneto, whose appearance in the game is now confirmed. He has with him the Power Stone as well. It looks like he will also be one of the bosses in the game, as seen by Wolverine and a team of heroes trying to take him down. He’s accompanied by the hulking Sentinels, as well as Mystique and the Juggernaut.
Of course, he will not go unopposed. The X-Men and other mutants were unveiled, each of them playable: Nightcrawler, Psylocke, Wolverine, Beast, Storm, Scarlet Witch and the irreverent Deadpool, who ends the trailer posing with a taco.
This trailer just made the huge roster of Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order even bigger, and I can’t wait to see which characters they announce next.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is set to be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on July 19, 2019.
