Here we are, back at it again with the latest for Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order. While the past few weeks saw gameplay footage for heroes such as Miles Morales, Spider-Gwen, Wolverine, Hawkeye, plus of course a first look at the Guardians of the Galaxy, new footage debuts this week showing the bad guys.
The newest video coming from Game Informer debuts our first look at one of the boss fights you’ll encounter in Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order: the deadly tandem of the symbiotic antagonist Venom, and the villainous shocker Electro. You can check out the entire clip here to see them both in action, as well as find out some more information with regards to how boss fights work in the game.
The fight takes place in Chapter 2 of the game, and you will have to face both Venom and Electro at the same time, pitting your chosen squad of four against these two powerful villains. Venom uses his symbiote and scatters some of it on the ground; walking on the tar-like substance will make you take more damage from attacks. Of course, it slows you down as well, even as Captain Marvel who just kind of floats around. The first phase of the fight sees Venom on the ceiling, throwing his symbiote around, while Electro takes care of your team on the ground.
In order to finish off a boss phase, you have to successfully stagger him. This is shown by a meter (which is not available in the gameplay video as it is a work-in progress) which you have to deplete. Depleting the meter successfully stuns the boss, giving you the chance to finish him off as a group.
The final phase of the fight sees Venom swallow Electro, with players having to fight him while he’s using Electro’s shock powers. It looks like it will be very challenging for players at the very least, and teamwork will be crucial to these encounters.
You can check out the footage of the fight here, and find out more about boss fights in general as well.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order is set to be released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on July 19.
