The announcement of Monster Hunter Generations (formerly Monster Hunter X in Japan) was one of the biggest pieces of news to come out of the March 3 Nintendo Direct.
While a trailer for the Western release of Monster Hunter Generations offered some details, it did not specify a concrete release date. Only a window of Summer 2016 was announced. However, an Amazon listing (via IGN) lists the release date for the upcoming Monster Hunter game as July 31. This falls in line with the release window from Nintendo.
These Amazon listing leaks are not uncommon, as the popular online marketplace regularly lists prices and release dates before the official announcements are made. The most recent “leak” from Amazon was in the price listing for the Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow Versions on the Nintendo eShop.
With that said, take the July 31 release date for Monster Hunter Generations with a grain of salt until the official announcement, as that day falls on a Sunday. Normally, Nintendo titles are released on Tuesday or Friday with the aforementioned Pokemon RBY releasing on a Saturday but that’s because of the special Pokemon anniversary.
The Monster Hunter Generations Amazon listing also has the following details about the game.
With hundreds of quests in store, there are tons of challenges to tackle in a solo adventure, and also via local or online play with up to three other hunters.
Co-op online multiplayer - For some of the best online multiplayer the Nintendo 3DS has to offer, join up and hunt online with up to three other hunters, or meet-up and play together via local play
Face a roster of brand new monsters like Glavenus of the Fated Four in addition to plenty of returning fan-favorites like the sly Nargacuga
Previously only available as custom support AI partners called "Palicoes," Felynes are now playable in "Prowler" mode with their own questlines and rewards, unique gameplay mechanics and gear.
Choose from four Styles and many powerful, visually striking Hunter Arts for a truly customized gameplay experience
