NBA 2K18 MyTeam season has begun with the introduction of the Court Vision pack to the Platinum Collection. Eleven new players will be added to themed packs every Tuesday, and this week’s promotion focuses on athletes with insanely good play selection. A 2K blog post offers the full details.
- Kenny Anderson (POR) [Sapphire]: He’s got high ball-control and accuracy ratings to ensure he’s always ready to take up his own shot or serve the rock to someone else. He also comes with a gold Acrobat badge, which means he can weave through traffic.
- Jason Kidd (DAL) [Sapphire]: He’s a great all-around shooter and was a master of the triple double. He’s got gold Dimer, Pick And Roll Maestro and Defensive Stopper badges.
- Tony Parker (SA) [Sapphire]: He’s got gold badges for Tear Dropper, One Man Fast Break and Pick And Roll Maestro. His great speed and speed-with-ball stats would suggest he may be one of the fastest players on your squad, if you can get him.
- Rod Strickland (SA) [Sapphire]: Strickland carries the Pick And Roll Maestro, Ankle Breaker, Floor General and Acrobat badges. He’s a real team-spirit guy who can quietly sink opponents while hidden in the background.
- Brandon Jennings (MIL) [Emerald]: Jennings is another team-boost type player who can catch challengers off guard.
- Travis Best (IND) [Emerald]: He’s a great backup player with strong speed ratings.
- Nick Van Exel (LAL) [Emerald]: Van Exel is great for difficult shots and charging the lane, but he doesn’t carry an extremely high value. These skills make him an asset for Super Max, where you’ll be playing under a salary cap.
- Mike Bibby (ATL) [Gold]: Bibby has a reputation for great shooting and accurate passing.
- Charlie Ward (NY) [Gold]: He’s another cheap player with stats that far outperform his rating.
- Andre Miller (LAC) [Gold]: Miller was a master of assists, which makes him of great value to teams that rely on fast breaks or a low-scoring point guard setup. His Floor General personality badge helps too.
- Deron Williams (UTA) [Ruby]: If you collect every MyTeam card listed above, you’ll unlock Williams. He has five gold badges including Acrobat, Pick And Roll Maestro, Dimer, Ankle Breaker, Relentless Finisher and the Floor General personality badge. He can push past defenders or pass to someone who can get the job done.
The Court Vision pack isn’t all that exciting, and its prices will probably have you even less enthused. They’re just as expensive as last year, but, as players well know, the currency yield has been drastically lowered in 2K18 specifically. Packs come in sets of 10 and 21, and cost 220,000 and 101,000 VC respectively. Thankfully the auction value on these cards is pretty low, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to get Williams if you really want him.
Like most things NBA 2K18, this isn’t the strongest start for MyTeam. Especially given how controversial the VC allotments have been for this game, we were hoping to see a price decrease on the backend. If you’re a hardcore enthusiast, though, there’s just enough here to feel respected.
NBA 2K18 is available now on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch and PC.
