San Diego Comic Con attendees that have walked past the Lucasfilm Pavilion may have met a rather curious looking fellow with tubes hanging from his face. It's a new character from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the official Star Wars Facebook page shared a brief description on Wednesday:
“Edrio Two Tubes is a mercenary pilot who flies alongside his eggmate, Benthic. The two share the nickname derived from the breathing apparatus that allows their Tognath physiology to process oxygen atmospheres. Edrio’s home world Yar Togna was conquered and occupied by the Empire, forcing him to flee as a refugee. Desiring to strike back at the Empire, Edrio and Benthic have allied with Saw Gerrera.”
Given Edrio's intimidating appearance and a Vader-like chest plate and breathing mechanism, it's a rather pleasant surprise to learn that Edrio is a part of Saw Gerrera’s (Forest Whitaker) rebel cell.
Last week, a new Rogue One: A Star Wars Story teaser released during the 2016 Star Wars Celebration in London shared a cool behind-the-scenes look as well as new footage of the upcoming anthology movie. Stay tuned as we learn more about Rogue One: A Star Wars Story in the months ahead.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story arrives Dec. 16. Check out more photos of Edrio below:
