This September, things are about to get more exciting in Pokémon GO. In addition to new activities, it also marks the beginning of a new season. Starting September 1, strange events abound with the Season of Mischief.
In Pokémon GO, seasons introduce new activities that change every three months. The first was the Season of Celebration which started in December 2020. It was followed by Season of Legends back in March. Then, it was the Season of Discovery in June.
The new season focuses on the Mischief Pokémon Hoopa. When Hoopa was first summoned during this year’s Pokémon GO Fest, it distorted space and time. Hoopa isn’t arriving alone since it’s bringing with it Pokémon first discovered in the Galar region.
It should be noted that while the new season does start this Wednesday, Hoopa is arriving at a later date, September 5. Once this Pokémon arrives, others start to appear in the wild and become attracted to Incense at these local times:
- 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
- Psychic-type Pokémon
- 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Ghost-type Pokémon

Just in case you’re new to the game, that’s not the only thing happening with the new season. There are different Pokémon appearing in various areas of the world. What it means is Pokémon in the Northern Hemisphere can be found in the Southern Hemisphere, and vice versa. Pokémon that appear in the wild will also be different depending on the season.
