After the exclusive EA and Porsche licensing contract ended back in 2015, we've been seeing games including Forza Motorsport, Assetto Corsa and Gran Turismo Sport embrace the Stuttgart brand. It's no surprise, then, that developer Slightly Mad Studios will bring Porsche to Project Cars 2 when it arrives later this year.

The big announcement was made via a new Project Cars 2 Porsche teaser featuring American factory driver Patrick Long, seen not only driving his race car on the track and his fun weekend car up in the Californian canyons, but also getting behind the wheel of Project Cars 2.
At this time, Slightly Mad Studios has announced Project Cars 2's Porsche roster will include eight models that span the sports car brand's rich history. The cars will include the current halo Porsche 918 Spyder as well as the current 911 GT3 RS, GT3, and GT4 Clubsport. Older cars include the monster Porsche 935, 962C and 1998 911 GT1. The full list so far is the following:
- 2016 Porsche 918 Spyder
- 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 RS
- 2016 Porsche 911 GT3 R
- 2016 Porsche Cayman GT4 Clubsport
- 1998 Porsche 911 GT1
- 1984 Porsche 962C
- 1984 Porsche 962C Langheck
- 1977 Porsche 935
- 1976 Porsche 936
Patrick Long's unique experience of Porsche's new race cars and his personal collection of classics allows him to give developers broad knowledge regarding what it takes to accurately recreate these iconic Porsches in game.
"Critical feedback and what is needed to improve a car on the road is something I do day in and day out," said Long, "Doing it from a simulation aspect with AJ and the Project Cars guys, that's unique for me.
In addition to Porsche, Project Cars 2 will also be adding a brand-new IndyCar element to their game, featuring several Indy tracks including the Indianapolis as well as race cars ranging from the modern IndyCar Dallara DW12 to Parnelli Jone's red, white, and blue Ol' Calhoun racer.
