Following the end of this year's Rainbow Six Siege Season 1 Finals, Ubisoft has released a trove of information in the form of its Data Peek for Year 2 Season 1 statistics data drop. Siege fans that are strategy-obsessed have been begging for this sort open data for a while now and this almanac of the Rainbow Six universe will enable us to play at an even greater level than before – if we knew what to do with the information.
The statistics released in this Year 2 Data Peek reveal the stats per operator per skill level per loadout, including the number of rounds won, number of rounds played, number of kills, deaths, and more. In total, Ubisoft shared more than 19GB of raw data. Redditors have compiled the information to create charts to reveal some pretty interesting graphics, including the win-loss ratio of attackers vs. defenders on every map, as well as the popularity of each attacker and each defender on every rank.
It's the tiniest changes that yield the biggest effects to the way Rainbow Six Siege is played. Back in Year 1 Season 1, defending teams wouldn't dream of winning a match without 3-armor operators like Rook and Doc. Now, 3-speeds such as Jager and Bandit prove to be much for effective. More recently, Siege players complained about Glaz's buff, which eventfully led to a mild nerf in the Operation Health update.
In the current meta, it's clear that speed operators are the more prefered pick for both attack and defense. Ash and Hibana lead the attackers while both Jager and Bandit are the favored defenders. To further investigate the potential of each operator, redditor Duerkos broke down the K/D ratio by weapons. While the R4-C is the primary weapon of choice for players from Copper through Platinum, Diamond players achieve a superior K/D with the G36C. Meanwhile the TYPE-89 clearly boasts a better K/D until the SuperNova surpasses it at Diamond rank once again. Things are a little more straightforward for the defenders as Jager's 416-C Carbine indicates a better K/D across the ranks, while Bandit's MP7 is the better choice for players of all skills as well.
