As Ubisoft introduces more operators to Rainbow Six Siege in Year 2 and beyond, the tactical advantages of past operators will begin to shift and either gain value, or become obsolete. So far, Glaz is the only operator in the roster with a sniper rifle. However, is he suffering from being a one-trick pony? Via Ubisoft's Twitter post on Friday, it looks like Glaz may receive an upgrade shortly. Check out the tweet:
If there's a Glaz lurking the parameter, my only advice is to stay away from the windows. The footage from the tweet clearly shows the target painted in yellow. However, unlike Jackal, it doesn't look like the mark is visible for the entire team – Glaz only sees the yellow tango when he is aiming down sights. We believe the feature might be a new scope attachment for Glaz.
If the scope is able to spot targets without a wait-time, then the biggest advantage we see from this is the faster reflexes necessary to counter annoying spawn kills or enemies using dark spots to hide their position. If it can spot multiple enemies, then a scope scan can possibly give away the entire enemy team's position (highly unlikely, since that's way too OP).
Ubisoft isn't sharing any more details at this time, but we expect to begin a steady stream of info in the weeks ahead. Siege is due for an update near the end of March or early April, with a Mid-Season update, which addresses a few bug fixes, adds gameplay improvements, and also apply big changes to operators. Stay tuned as we learn more.
