Red Dead Redemption 2 is confirmed! RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 IS CONFIRMED! Here's the tweet heard round the gaming worlds this morning.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 confirmation tweet also gives us insight into the game's story. From the image, it appears we're getting a prequel story about John Marston and his gang. We'll also be getting a trailer at 11 a.m. EST on Oct. 20 that will, hopefully, provide some details on a release window.
As we mentioned yesterday, we're anticipating a short time for release based on the success of Fallout 4's marketing strategy. Bethesda waited a long time to release details about the game and released it a few months after confirming it at E3. For Rockstar to be making such a bold announcement in the midst of the holiday release schedule is gutsy. There's already rumors of an NX reveal this week, on top of a new Pokemon demo and the launch of both Battlefield 1 and Civ 6 on Friday. And that's just this week.
Hopefully Red Dead Redemption 2 includes a PC version this time, and it wouldn't shock me if Red Dead Redemption 2 was scheduled for release next year but a remastered version of the original would come this holiday. The game recently went backwards compatible on Xbox One and saw a huge surge in sales, which may have been enough to convince Rockstar's publisher, Take Two, to re-release the original to get fans extra hyped for Red Dead Redemption 2.
Finally, we also got word Tuesday that a domain for Red Dead Online has been established by Take Two, which seems to confirm an online component for the game as well, a la GTA Online. Let's hope it's not successful so we actually get some damn single player DLC.
ARE YOU EXCITED FOR RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2 OF COURSE YOU ARE THAT'S WHY WE'RE YELLING SO YELL IN THE COMMENTS WITH US WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
