Senran Kagura Peach Ball is officially slated to be released to the PC via Steam on August 14. This pinball-themed game is the latest addition to the Senran Kagura franchise. The PC release includes support for higher framerates along with more resolution options. The game is priced at $39.99 and in celebration of the launch, a 10% discount is offered for the first week of release.
The Senran Kagura series has long been known to cross genres and so far already a brawler, rhythm cooking, and even a third-person splasher game have been released. This latest version brings the deadly shinobi-in-training to its newest genre: pinball. During missions, players need to flip, bump, spin, or tilt the Peach Ball to bring it into contact with one of five shinobi girls perched atop a colorful pinball table.
Story-wise, the mad scientist of Homura’s Crimson Squad Haruka is up to her usual experiments again and brewing up mysterious concoctions with unknown effects. Unfortunately for her fellow shinobi, Haruka has chosen the local arcade she works at as her laboratory, storing her experiments in the bathroom. An accidental outbreak infects five of her shinobi friends, and she learns that her latest concoction can transform those exposed into animals, at least mentally.
With Asuka, Yumi, Yomi, Ryona, and Murasaki causing wild havoc in and around the arcade, Haruka finally found a way to return the shinobi to their senses in the form of the mystical Peach Ball. When applied to a subject’s body repeatedly and combined with the proper vibrational force, it can undo the effects of her experiment. Conveniently, it’s just the right size for a pinball table. Now all Haruka needs is a skilled assistant to operate the table, bopping each shinobi girl with the ball until she comes around.
