Ever tried to search Netflix for a good movie using the genres they have in place? The answer is probably emphatically "no" because they basically suck. But what if we told you there are literally thousands of hidden codes out there that Netflix has created to categorize movies but hasn’t told us about.

Welp, that’s actually exactly what they have going on. Though someone figured out a long time ago that you could change the numbers on the end of a Netflix genre URL and get some secret hidden genre codes, the information seems to have only recently disseminated to the larger population.

So how do you find Netflix secret hidden codes? You can do it manually, or visit a website that hosts them all. To do it manually all you have to do is log into your Netflix account and click on a genre. For example, this one that comes up on my children’s profile: http://www.netflix.com/browse/genre/23364

You then just change the digits at the end to anything you want. For example, changing the end digits to 2001 gives me “Inspiring Sports Stories Based On Real Life.”
