The first trailer for theHunter: Call of the Wild has been published by Expansive Worlds and Avalanche Studios. It doesn’t give us all that much information about the upcoming sequel to theHunter, but early details on the open-world hunting game suggest fans of the original can expect numerous improvements when theHunter: Call of the Wild hits Steam early next year.
Just in case you aren’t familiar, theHunter is a free-to-play, open-world hunting game, originally released back in 2014 and supported by a variety of microtransactions. Players could purchase a variety of items, from new equipment to licenses for new animals, and track their prey across several unique environments. Now, the game is getting its first sequel, theHunter: Call of the Wild , complete with the kinds of improvements you’d expect to see in an open-world sequel.
According to the game’s website, theHunter: Call of the Wild will give players more than 50 square miles of terrain to explore. The sequel will also include multiplayer support, letting groups of up to eight players take part in competitive or cooperative hunts. Weapons will run the gamut of modern hunting options, from bows to high-powered rifles, and we can probably expect to see numerous other gadgets (like animal calls) in the final build. Expansive Worlds says fans can also expect a closed beta to begin early next month. Those interested in participating can sign-up on the official theHunter: Call of the Wild website. The enrollment period ends Dec. 4.
