After some casting rumors, Marvel Studios has come out and confirmed the cast of Thor: Ragnarok, the third film in the Thor series set to release in 2017.
The new cast members include Cate Blanchett as Hela, the ruler of the Asgardian version of Hell, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, and Karl Urban as Skurge AKA the Executioner.
Rounding out the new cast is Mark Ruffalo returning as Bruce Banner / The Hulk.
“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said Producer Kevin Feige. “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."

The brand new cast members join a returning cast that includes Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Tom Hiddleston as Loki and Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
