Transformers: Forged to Fight is the latest game from developer Kabam, and builds on previous Kabam games to make a mobile fighting game worth playing. Thanks to some great controls and a wide selection of Transformers to choose from, Forged to Fight should definitely be on any Transformers fan’s radar.
Transformers: Forged to Fight is pretty much just a sequel to Marvel: Contest of Champions. Using gestures and easy inputs instead of complex button presses, performing attacks is simple and fast. Basic attacks are done with a simple tap, driving attacks are done with a swipe, and heavy attacks are performed by holding down onto the screen for a second. Each heavy attack is unique for each Transformer, because they all involve the character actually transforming to land the attack.
Additionally, more powerful attacks can be charged up to use later. Once a meter at the bottom is fully charged, a powerful attack gets unleashed, complete with a neat cutscene. These attacks often are game changers, with the winner typically being the first Transformer to use his or her big move.
The big change Transformers: Forged to Fight adds is a 3D battle arena. All fights in Marvel: Contest of Champions take place on a 2D plane, like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat. Forged to Fight allows players to sidestep incoming attacks, similar to the SoulCalibur series. This results in much larger and more dynamic arenas to fight in, with some arenas even including destructible environments to really get players into the game.
Another exciting feature for hardcore Transformers fans is that Forged to Fight will allow players to create teams of Bots that wouldn’t normally exist. This means that Autobots and Decepticons will be able to team up together to fight off whoever shows up. It’s also one of the few times many eras of Transformers will all be in one game, with bots ranging from the Michael Bay movies back to the Beast Wars TV series and more.
Like Contest of Champions, Forged to Fight is a gorgeous game. Featuring crisp 3D graphics and impressive effects, Forged to Fight will really shine on the latest mobile devices. If you happen to have an older device, Forged to Fight might be graphically toned down for you to ensure you won’t have any performance issues.
Forged to Fight will be available on both iOS and Android devices starting in early April. The game will be free to download, but there will be in-app purchases for new characters and other optional add-ons.
