The Strictly Limited Games online store will soon be accepting pre-orders for the limited run of physical releases for the classic arcade shoot em-up games found in the Vasara Collection. The Vasara Collection will contain two games: Vasara and Vasara 2.
Vasara and Vasara 2 mix science fiction and history in a shoot em-up format. The game takes place in an alternate timeline of Feudal Japan where technologically advanced weaponry and equipment are a reality. The hero you will play as will use flying motorcycles with immense firepower and fierce melee weapons to destroy their foes.
The Vasara Collection includes eight playable characters inspired by real life Japanese historical figures. It also features combat that strives to retell historical battles in Feudal Japan, with robots and samurai using traditional shooting mechanics and powerful melee attacks at the player’s disposal. As with any classic shoot em-up, Vasara and Vasara 2 are heavily skill based and requires experience if you are to play the more difficult modes, but it does provide an easy mode for beginners and newcomers to the genre. Both Vasara and Vasara 2 also follow branching storylines, multiple paths, and unique endings that will be dictated by your characters, as well as your actions in the game. One new gameplay feature that will be present in the Vasara Collection is the addition of a Timeless Mode for those who just want to play without being pressured by the game’s plot.
The announcement of the release for both physical and digital versions of the Vasara Collection came just almost a week ago, with the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and the Nintendo Switch getting both physical and digital releases, while the Xbox One, PC and Mac only get digital versions. Publisher Chorus Worldwide has scheduled the launch date for November 14, 2019.
Pre-orders will be open on July 28 as announced by developer QUByte Interactive, with Standard and Collector Editions to choose from. The Collector’s Edition will contain the game with an included game manual, a Vasara Art book, an Official Soundtrack CD for the game, a Stickersheet, and a Large A2 Poster (16” x 23”), which will all be inside a Collector’s Edition Box.
