The next-gen update of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt finally has a release date. Players will be able to play the new and hopefully, the best version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt starting December 14. The update will be completely free for owners of any edition of the game.
Next-Gen Update
Players can expect several improvements like better visuals, enhanced performance, and reduced loading times, along with new features. Ray tracing will be included, and a variety of fan-made mods will be integrated into the game.
That’s not all! The update also sports new content like new weapons and armor for Geralt and alternative looks for select characters. This new stuff will be inspired by Netflix’s The Witcher series.
More Details
CD Projekt didn’t reveal the gameplay footage yet. The official tweet claims that more details and new gameplay will be unveiled next week on Twitch. Whatever they reveal, we will surely let you know.
Complete Edition
Players who haven’t purchased Witcher 3 yet can buy the Complete Edition, a dedicated next-gen version for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. A physical release date for CE will be revealed later.
Previous Consoles
CD Projekt isn’t leaving older consoles in the dust yet. PS4, Xbox One, and Switch versions of the game will also receive some additions and improvements, including Netflix show-related content. Just don’t expect technical improvements like ray tracing and reduced loading time. Check out the official blog for more details.
Future Projects
Fans will be happy to know that the Witcher IP isn’t going anywhere. A remake of the very first Witcher game is in development along with a brand-new trilogy; one Witcher project with a multiplayer component is also in the works.
All this focus on the Witcher doesn’t mean CD Projekt is abandoning Cyberpunk. The developer currently plans to release a major expansion for Cyberpunk 2077. A full-fledged sequel is also in the oven; more information is available here.
