The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will be six years old in less than three months. Even after this long since release, the game still has a pretty decent community. New mods are being created almost every week and some make the game weirder, while some make it prettier. Today, we are talking about the latter one.
Witcher 3 was a beautiful-looking game when it was released. Half a decade later, however, its age has started to show. There is a top-tier mod called The Witcher 3 HD Reworked Project 12.0 Ultimate, which makes the game even more stunning. But if that isn’t your cup of tea, then you can try the new mod mentioned below.
Witcher 3 Texture Overhaul - White Orchard is available on Nexus Mods for free. The game completely overhauls the textures and landscape of White Orchard. It also features baked ambient occlusion, baked normal maps, and normalized colorization.
Here's the description of the mod as detailed by the mod author:
- 4K textures made with Photogrammetry, which provides the most realistic textures ready for Witcher 3 remake and its ray tracing.
- Physically-based rendered textures to provide realistic real-world properties, such as shadow occlusion and reflections.
- Color correction to make the terrain look seamless.
Gorgulla, the mod's author, said: "I'm impudently saying that this mod has the best quality compared to other texture mods. Sorry but it's the truth. Look for yourself!"
Installing this mod is simple as it gets. All you have to do is extract it to the game folder and put its priority as one. The mod is developed by the same person who developed Fallout 4 Texture Overhaul and Skyrim Textures Redone. This seems like a great way to enjoy Witcher 3 as you wait for the official next-gen upgrade to release sometime in 2021.
