Ark: Survival Evolved update 751 introduced some XDK changes on Xbox One, and those adjustments are causing crashes and other server issues. In an extended tweet, Studio Wildcard support provided a recap of the issues and an ETA for fixes.
Here’s the official list of issues players can expect after installing Ark’s latest update on Xbox One:
- Controller shut down kills application [You can plug a wire into your controller to keep it charged/active and then host a player-dedicated]
- Player Dedicated and Non-Dedicated Servers are only listing one at a time.
- Servers are not listing in the Servers on Cluster Session List under the Travel to another ARK option.
- Inviting to or Joining (via invite) a Password Protected Player Dedi Server fails
- You can't successfully Invite/Join game into an Official Server.
In addition to the controller-plug fix, the issue can be circumvented by taking out the remote’s batteries after clicking the Ark icon. Put them back in once all the intro videos have fully loaded. It’s a bit messy, but at least it allows for wireless gameplay if absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, the above problems will persist for the Xbox One version of the game until Monday or Tuesday. The only true solution is to send a new patch through certification, and Microsoft only handles those requests on weekdays.
Ark: Survival Evolved version 751 primarily adds all features found in last month’s v255 PC update. This includes four new Dinos and the Tek tileset required for futuristic base building. Ironically, the XDK adjustments were originally described as something that might improve server networking. That certainly isn’t the case today. You can still play, but bugs make it a little harder to access your game.
That being said, the 1.14 PS4 update launched Thursday evening without a hitch. To celebrate the arrival of the new console patches, an evolution event adds a 1.5 times rate increase for harvesting, taming and experience gain across all platforms.
Ark: Survival Evolved is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, OS X and Linux. If you’re trying the latest update, be sure to check out the updated list of admin commands and our guide for obtaining the Tek Tileset.
