There's bad news for all "Call of Duty" fans as it was recently announced by Activision Blizzard that the Season 3 drop will have to wait until April.
This setback affects the likes of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" and "Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0" after fans have expected that the latest content for these games will be available this month.
The good thing is that there is something to expect this month as "Call of Duty: Warzone" is celebrating its fifth anniversary this month.
'Call of Duty: Black Ops 6,' 'Warzone' Season 3 Faces Delay
Activision Blizzard is the bearer of bad news in their latest announcement via X earlier today, as the company has confirmed that it is now delaying the release of Season 3 globally. The new season and its explosive new content were previously expected sometime this month, but the company will no longer push through with its March release.
It is important to note that Activision Blizzard and Treyarch Games' release times in between each season only takes two months, and since Season 2 was released last January, the ideal date would be for this March.
That being said, the company revealed that the next season will drop on April 3, with Activision Blizzard calling Season 3 as a "big moment" for both "Warzone" and "Black Ops 6."
However, the company is now asking for additional time to work on "Call of Duty: Black Ops 6" and "Call of Duty: Warzone" Season 3, but the company has not yet revealed any information about these games. Season 3 will bring massive changes to the game, involving possible new game modes and maps.
According to ComicBook Gaming, this extra time asked by the company can help greatly in the public release version it can lead to there being fewer bugs or issues when it arrives.
April Will Bring 'Call of Duty's' Season 3; Anniversary Continues
While April will bring the next season of "Call of Duty," there is still an upcoming experience for players to look forward as Activision Blizzard teased that in the coming weeks, they will share more information about "Warzone's" anniversary.
This year marks the fifth anniversary of "Call of Duty: Warzone," a game that was originally released in 2020 and has seen its successor, "Warzone 2.0," arrive in 2022.
It has been rumored that tithe return of its iconic map, Verdansk, will take place for its fifth anniversary, but there has been no official confirmation yet.
