The expanded version of Death Stranding, titled Director’s Cut, is a little more than two weeks away. The game will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on September 24. It will feature brand-new content, including new story missions, race tracks, shooting range, gadgets, and more.
From a technical point of view, the visuals of the game have also been improved. It will support PS5-exclusive features like 3D Audio, reduced loading time, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback.
Yesterday, the developer released the final trailer of the game. The trailer was edited by Hideo Kojima himself, the creative director of Death Stranding. The video consists of clips from the new version of the game compiled with new music. You can watch it above.
Upgrade Path
You can purchase the Director’s Cut for only $49.99. An upgrade path is also available, so don’t worry. If you already own a copy of the game on PS4, you can upgrade it to DC for only $9.99.
PC Version?
As of now, Death Stranding Director’s Cut is only available on PS5. The PC version of DC hasn’t been announced. However, given that the original version is already available on Steam and Epic Games Store, I think it’s only a matter of time. When or if Director’s Cut is announced for PC, we will be sure to let you know.
Possible Sequel?
If you loved the original game, you should definitely try out the new edition. It’s not a proper sequel, but it will sure keep you busy. Speaking of a sequel, Norman Reedus, the actor who plays the main protagonist Sam Porter, hinted that the sequel to the game is currently in development. He further claimed that he might reprise his role, but it’s not set in stone yet. Keep in mind that this is not an official confirmation.
Even if Death Stranding 2 is in development, it’s probably years away. For now, the Director’s Cut will have to do.
