Since Final Fantasy 15 update 1.03, portions of Niflheim are now accessible via a glitch. The news follows the release of multiple videos showing players exploiting a similar glitch to explore Insomnia.
The accessible areas in Niflheim include a wide swath of land around Cartanica Station, Eusciello (the snowy area on the train), the area where Prompto falls from the train, and Pagla, where Noct talks to Ignis via phone while on top of the train.
While most of the land is flat, many portions of the glitch-accessible areas in Final Fantasy 15 appear to have an unusual amount of detail that might indicate they could be unlocked in future DLC, including detailed trees, passing cars and other unlikely bits of polish.
Unfortunately, some locations will result in an infinite loading screen if players attempt to fully load or explore them.
Check out the videos below:
The new patch for Final Fantasy 15 also added some new-looking geography in the background of the unexplorable Cartinaca region, the first train stop in the non-open world portion of the game. Via fotmhero:
Another glitch will let you explore Insomnia much faster by taking advantage of a glitch in the final boss fight. Rather than walking or running, this particular glitch will let you free-float rapidly through the world.
[Warning: the video below will reveal the game’s final boss. If you don’t already know that information, you’re better off not watching.]
We already know that Square Enix will flesh out Final Fantasy 15 ’s story content via DLC, especially with regards to Ravus, Lunafreya’s brother. We also know that the upcoming DLC includes one for each party member, with Episode Gladio coming first (and rumored to include a battle with Gilgamesh ). It’s not too much to imagine that we’ll see more of these detailed areas in Episode Prompto considering Prompto’s backstory. (See? No spoilers!)
What do you think about these glitches? Are you looking forward to visiting more of Final Fantasy 15 ’s open world in future expansions? Feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
