Microsoft has announced the games Xbox Live Gold subscribers get for free this September, and it’s a pretty impressive line-up. Remember, all games for Xbox 360 will also be playable on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility.
Now on to the games!
Xbox One
The first game coming to Xbox One in September is Earthlock: Festival of Magic. An Xbox One and Steam exclusive, this RPG features Final Fantasy -like battles and tons of exploration. Earthlock: Festival of Magic is available for free from Sept. 1-30.
The second game coming to Xbox One is Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China. This 2D take on the Assassin’s Creed franchise still features all of the staples of running, climbing, stealth action and more. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China will be free to download from Sept. 16-Oct. 15.
Xbox 360
The first game coming to Xbox 360 (and Xbox One) users is Forza Horizon. The first entry in the Horizon spin-off of Forza games, this open-world racer allows players more freedom and flexibility with their racing instead of the more formal Forza games. Forza Horizon is free to download from Sept. 1-15.
Mirror’s Edge is the last game offered for free to Gold subscribers in September, being available from Sept. 16-30. This first-person platformer from DICE is a big departure from the studio’s normal shooters, and deserves to be played by everyone.
