If I got a dollar for every time Metro 2033 was given for free, I would have had a total of two dollars. The original Metro 2033 is available for free for the second time on Steam. Keep in mind that this is not the remastered version released in 2014, but the OG vanilla version. Some players prefer the original version for its dark atmosphere and difficult gameplay. However, it does have brain-dead AI so pick your poison.
You can grab the game on Steam till March 15, after that. you are gonna have to shell out some bucks. That’s not all as the rest of the games in the series are also having a massive sale. If you haven’t tried out Metro games, then this is a great time to grab them all for cheap. You can buy the Metro Franchise Bundle and it will give you all three games plus their DLCs for only $29.98.
You can also choose to buy these games separately, and weirdly, they are cheaper that way. Metro 2033 Redux and Metro Last Light Redux are having an 80% sale and you can grab them for $3.99 each. The latest game in the series, Metro Exodus, is also available for $13.59 but I would recommend that you purchase the Gold Edition for $19.49, which will give you access to both expansion packs.
There’s a lot of Metro -related content to look forward to. The developer of the game, 4A Games, has previously announced that a free next-gen update of Metro Exodus is also in the works. The supposed upgrade will be so extensive that players will need an RTX card to run the game. That’s why players must decide which version they want to run.
A sequel of Metro Exodus was confirmed as well, however, it's years away, and it might also feature some multiplayer element. I guess we will have to wait and see how that will turn out.
So what do you think? Are you interested in any of these games? Or have you already played every Metro game before? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
