Heads up, PS4 and PS3 owners. HBO Now, the standalone HBO subscription service, is finally coming to your console. If you are a PS Vue subscriber, you now have access to HBO and Cinemax, according to the PlayStation Blog.
Unfortunately, no release date was given for when HBO Now will be available to download. The post does say the app will be available on both PS4 and PS3 before Oct. 2, in time for the premiere of Westworld.
HBO Now is a stand-alone service, allowing you access to HBO’s current TV and movie offerings without the need of a cable bill. This is different from HBO Go, which allows those already subscribed to HBO through cable to watch content on demand.
PS Vue is a television service offered by Sony that allows users to subscribe to only the channels they want. While already offering popular channels like NFL Network, USA and Showtime, the service is now offering access to HBO and Cinemax. If you choose to subscribe to HBO through PS Vue, you’ll get access to HBO Now on all devices for free.
So what do you think? Are you excited to get HBO Now when it releases soon? Does HBO and Cinemax make you want to subscribe to PS Vue now? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
