According to UberGizmo, it will cost a whopping $270 to send a Galaxy Note 7 with a broken screen to a Samsung Support team for repairs.
Smartphone repairs have never been cheap, but the dual-edge curved screen of the Galaxy Note 7 makes fixing the device even more costly. Repairs from an official source do not only entail replacing the screen but also making sure the device remains water resistant, UberGizmo noted.
Samsung does offer a Protection Plus plan, which covers two incidents of accidental damage over two years. The plan costs $129 and each claim will incur a deductible of $79. If you damage your phone twice you’ll end up paying a total of $287, so seriously, protective case for your Galaxy Note 7.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 features Gorilla Glass 5, which glass maker Corning claims is more durable than the previous generation Gorilla Glass 4. However, drop tests have shown the device is not impervious to nasty spills.
