Fans are not happy with the latest release from Capcom, "Monster Hunter Wilds," as the game has been plagued by bugs in its first public release despite the long wait. Unfortunately, another one was discovered by users most recently.
The latest bug is reportedly preventing players from enjoying their game and involves a non-playable character (NPC).
The problem lies in the main mission part of the game, which many players have already reached, and despite accomplishing all of the requirements of the game, players have reported that they cannot move on to the next part.
'Monster Hunter Wilds' Bug Blocks Story Progress
It has been a long two-year wait for fans before Capcom officially released "Monster Hunter Wilds," and thus far, it seems like players aren't enjoying the game.
The game is now facing performance issues on different platforms, particularly via the Steam PC launcher. According to IGN, Capcom has already released PC troubleshooting steps to fix it.
However, not long after that, the three-day-old game is still experiencing issues, and the problem now lies in its gameplay. According to a report by Eurogamer, the problem is now centered on an NPC. Specifically, players who have already reached "Main Mission: Chapter 5-2 A World Turned Upside Down" are having trouble progressing in the game as a specific NPC is unavailable.
There are no answers as to why this specific NPC is not spawning when needed, especially after already accomplishing the requirements to advance further into the game's main story, but it essentially hinders players from their progression.
Players who have already come this far are already frustrated with the massive problems that the game has faced since its release last Feb. 28, with the issues spread out on Windows PC, PS5, and Xbox Series S and X.
Capcom Still Has No Fix for NPC Bug on 'MH Wilds'
Visiting the 'Monster Hunter' Status' official X page will show the many problems that the game has run into since its release, with the company already offering several hotfixes and bugfixes to solve problems.
That being said, Capcom has only acknowledged the said "Main Mission: Chapter 5-2" issue via their status page, and the company only said that they are still investigating the problem.
The company did not break down what is happening to the game and why it is not spawning the integral NPC that is key to progressing in the story, with its fix not yet available as of writing.
For now, players will have to await further details from Capcom regarding any fix for this NPC bug, with Optional Quests and Side Missions still available to accomplish.
It has been surprising to see Capcom facing massive issues with "Monster Hunter Wilds" as the company was previously celebrated due to what the game had to offer during its open beta.
