A bunch of new NBA 2K18 player ratings have arrived, courtesy of the game’s official Twitter account. The list, comprised mostly of fan submissions, features Karl Anthony-Towns, Giannis Antetokounmpo and a whole lot more.

As far as this new batch of ratings is concerned, the most talked about ones are Antetokounmpo and KAT. Roster updates from last year pushed Antetokounmpo into the 90s club, and thanks to his career-defining 2017 performance in pretty much every aspect of the game, he’s moved even further into that elusive territory. Anthony-Towns started with an 88 last year, so bumping up to a 91 is a pretty significant change. His performance has been very consistent since his debut, and that reliability has earned him greater chops when it comes to consideration in the final game.
Some of these player ratings may have been announced before in less prominent ways, but with NBA 2K18 just weeks away from release, they’re almost assuredly the final ones. These are also far from the last stats to be revealed. In recent tweets, 2K marketing guru Ronnie Singh teased that 2K18 has two players with 96+ overall and four in the 95+ category. It’s likely we’ll learn who those stars might be as the release date draws near.
It’s been a busy week for NBA 2K18 news. Alongside this onslaught of player ratings, fans were also privy to the title’s first gameplay trailer, a development diary about the game’s realistic art direction, and the announcement of a Prelude demo in development for current-gen consoles. Alongside the MyGM blowout and soundtrack reveal of past weeks, the 2K18 picture is starting to become increasingly clear. Considering the franchise’s continued popularity, will it rise above the gameplay issues of its predecessor? We’ll have to wait and see.
NBA 2K18 comes to PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Switch and PC Sept. 19. A free Prelude demo arrives on PS4 and Xbox One Sept. 9.
