Pokémon isn't just about building friendships. It's also about the possibility of evolving into something that is both surprising and cool. However, there are times when we may need a little bit of help. To celebrate how much Trainers and their Pokémon have grown this year, Pokémon Go is introducing the first ever Evolution Event. As every Pokémon fan knows, evolving a Pokémon takes into consideration a lot of factors. This event lets Trainers explore all these unique ways Pokémon evolve.
Th event has an accompanying Raid Day. You need to prepare, though, as Raid Day is all set to happen tomorrow, December 7, between 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. local time.
So what can you expect to happen during the Raid Day? Features include:
- Encounter Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle in one-star raids.
- Encounter Ivysaur, Charmeleon, and Wartortle in two-star raids.
- Encounter Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise in four-star raids.
That's not all, as Trainers can receive as much as five extra Raid Passes when spinning a Photo Disc at a Gym. These are only good during the Raid Day time period. The Raid Passes are not going to be usable once the event period is over. Finally, it is important to keep in mind that Trainers cannot hold more than one Raid Pass at a time.
If you're unable to join Raid Day, don't worry as you can still join the Evolution Event, which has already started and ends on December 12 at 4:00 p.m. EST. Features of the event include:
- Pokémon that evolve in unique ways— such as Onix, Eevee, Roselia, and Burmy— are going to be appearing more often in the wild, in raids, and in Field Research.
- Take on raids against Pokémon with unique Evolutions, like Lickitung, Scyther, Togetic, and Ralts.
- Find more 2 km Eggs that will hatch into Pokémon such as Tyrogue, Feebas, Burmy, and Happiny.
- Event-specific Field Research tasks that reward Evolution items, which can help you evolve certain Pokémon, are going to be available.
- Trainers who are lucky enough could encounter a Shiny Burmy.
For the duration of the event, all Lure Modules are going to last for one hour and this includes the Glacial, Magnetic, and Mossy Lure Modules. Meanwhile, Trainers get 2x XP when evolving Pokémon while getting Evolution items from raids.
What are you waiting for? It's time to evolve!
