Returnal, the third-person roguelike by Housemarque, is officially confirmed for PC. The announcement was made a few days ago at The Game Awards 2022. The exact release date wasn’t revealed, but we do know that the former PS5 title will arrive on Windows in early 2023, which normally means the first three months of the year.

Price and System Requirements

The game’s page on Steam and Epic Games Store is already live. However, you can’t purchase it just yet. We do not know what the price tag for the PC is but $60 should be a good guess.

The official system requirements have been revealed as well. Players will need Windows 10 64-bit with version 1903 or above. A free storage space of 60 GB is also required, with the developer highly recommending an SSD. Details about GPU, CPU, and RAM are mentioned below.

MINIMUM
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6400 (4 core 2.7 GHz), AMD Ryzen 5 1500X (4 core 3.5 GHz)
  • Memory: 16 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 (6 GB), AMD Radeon RX 580 (8 GB)
RECOMMENDED
  • Processor: Intel i7-8700 (6 core 3.7 GHz), AMD Ryzen 7 2700X (8 core 3.7 GHz)
  • Memory: 32 GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 2070 SUPER (8 GB), AMD RX 6700 XT (12 GB)

More details about the PC port will be revealed as we get close to release, though one disappointing piece of information is confirmed. Unfortunately, Returnal will not support cross-play between PC and PS5, which seems like a very weird decision.

The announcement of the Returnal PC port shouldn’t come as a surprise. Even before the official confirmation, tons of proof hinted that the PS5 title will arrive on Windows, and a few months ago, several screenshots of the game running on a PC were leaked.

In other news, Sony also announced the PC release date of The Last of Us Part 1. Check out our previous article for more information.
