The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active may be close to release, as the rugged version of the 2016 flagship has recently been spotted in a leak. Vietnamese tech blog Samsung VN shared an image of the smartphone with Galaxy S7 Active and AT&T branding visible on its back panel. AT&T has long been the exclusive carrier of Samsung’s Active line.
Similar to older Active smartphones by Samsung, this Galaxy S7 Active features a camo design and a reinforced polycarbonate plastic frame. Such smartphones are intended for users with active lifestyles who need to safeguard against harsh drops and the elements.
The Samsung Galaxy S7 Active would likely have features similar to the Galaxy S7, including a 5.1-inch Quad HD display, 12-megapixel camera, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The device could also have a larger battery, with a 3,600mAh capacity, similar to the Galaxy S7 Edge. However, specs for the Galaxy S7 Active have yet to be confirmed.
Tech blog Android Authority suggests the Galaxy S7 Active could be announced in matter of days. So far both Samsung and AT&T have been quite mum about the device. Though early indicators of its existence first surfaced when Samsung listed the unreleased smartphone within the update details of an application.
