Good news farming enthusiasts, Farming Simulator is about to get some competition on Xbox One and PS4 with Stardew Valley. The Harvest Moon-like game will be coming to PS4 on Dec. 13 and Xbox One on Dec. 14.
This news comes from a post on the Xbox website by Eric Barone, the creator of Stardew Valley . “Stardew Valley has been a great success on PC, and I am very excited to share it with many new people on Xbox One,” Barone said in the post. “I hope you’ll enjoy your time in the valley!”
Unfortunately for Nintendo fans, the news isn’t quite as exciting. In a post on the official Stardew Valley website, it was confirmed that the Wii U version of the game has been cancelled. There still will be a version coming, but development has shifted from the Wii U to the Switch.
“ Looking at Wii U and the current gaming landscape, we made the difficult choice to shift our development efforts to creating a version for Nintendo Switch. I am really looking forward to the Switch, and I believe that the Switch’s unique capabilities could create some exciting opportunities for Stardew Valley,” The post reads. “I do want to emphasize that I am absolutely committed to seeing Stardew Valley on Nintendo platforms, and I really do appreciate your support and understanding in this.
Pre-orders for the Xbox One and PS4 versions will start on Nov. 30. It looks like anyone will be able to pre-order on Xbox One, but PS4 pre-orders may only be limited to Europe. Why? No idea.
