Costume updates in Super Mario Maker are popping up frequently lately, with the addition of the Kanto region Pokemon starters on Feb. 11 and Professor E. Gadd on Feb. 4 .
The latest Super Mario Maker costume update sees Chitoge Kirisaki from the popular Nisekoi manga/anime joining the level-building fun.
According to NintendoNews, players can unlock the new costume by completing one of two new Event Courses based on four characters from the Nisekoi manga: “Nisekoi: Chitoge & Kosaki” and “Nisekoi: Tsugumi & Marika.” Each course is divided into two routes, with each route based on one of the four characters.
Naoshi Komi, the author of Nisekoi , created the new Event Courses based on his ongoing story that has appeared in Weekly Shonen Jump since 2011.
For those not familiar with the story, Nisekoi follows the life of high school student Raku Ichijo as he goes through school with his friends. However, being the son of Yakuza leader does not lead to any normal life for Raku. But don’t feel bad for the guy, every woman Raku comes across almost immediately becomes attracted to him. So he has that going for him.
Chitoge is one of Raku’s female friends, who is half Japanese and half American. She transfers to Raku’s school from America and is actually the daughter of another gangster leader.
The pair fake a romantic relationship to stop their families from going to war but the two are the quintessential opposites. She’s brash and surprisingly strong and always teases Raku for being too laid back.
To watch/read more, Nisekoi appears regularly in Weekly Shonen Jump, and Viz Media distributes printed volumes. The anime can be streamed via Crunchyroll and Hulu, so you can go check it out there.
