Supercell has been hard at work on its upcoming mobile game, Brawl Stars this week, dropping not only a brand new character, but also answering player questions in a Reddit AMA.
Brawl Stars has been in soft launch status for about a month now, but it’s already positioning itself as another dynamite addition to Supercell’s hit game list.
While the game introduced players to 15 unique playable characters , each with their own unique strengths and weaknesses, Supercell has been hesitant to add others so as not to overwhelm new players. One month after soft launch, though, the company has finally decided to throw a new character, Piper, into the mix. Two days after her release, Supercell also launched a Reddit AMA , allowing players to share ideas for changes and ask questions. Below we’ve put together a brief overview of the new character Piper as well as answers to some of the most popular questions asked in the Brawl Stars AMA -- including when the game will make its debut on Android. Check it out below.
New Brawl Stars Character ‘Piper’ Overview
Base Health : 600
Basic Skill: Long range attacker, launches sniper attack from the tip of her parasol. Attack damage ranges from 130 damage at point blank range to 460 damage. The further away the attacker, the greater the damage.
Special Ability: Can “jump” away from attackers, leaving behind three grenades worth 300 damage each. Piper is kind of a reverse El Primo
Can be purchased for 60 chips or won in a Brawl Box
What We Learned From Brawl Stars Reddit AMA
The Chip/Elixir/Brawl Box System Being Reworked - The Chip/Elixir/Brawl Box system in Brawl Stars is probably one of the most frustrating aspects of the game for many as it seems the number of duplicate brawlers players get in boxes seems a bit too high. This leaves little incentive to purchase new Brawl Boxes if the chance of getting new characters or elixir are too low. Though Supercell didn’t have a definitive answer for how the system will be reworked, they assured players a makeover for the system is certainly being worked on for the official worldwide launch.
Android Release Will Probably Be Delayed Till Global Launch - Supercell did a nice job of explaining the situation , but basically it boils down to this: soft launch servers are only in Canada right now and since software can be distributed far too easily on android, this would cause an inability to support the number of players who might sign up on the Canadian server. Though they didn’t say so explicitly, it seems Android users will probably have to wait for the official global release date to give the game a try.
A Fix Coming For Absentee Players - There is nothing more annoying then stepping into a 3 vs 3 battle and realizing that one of your teammates isn’t actively playing at all. Supercell is working on a solution for this to launch with the global release of the game.
Matchmaking Will Improve - Currently, matchmaking is based on how many trophies your brawler has, meaning, the better you are with using that brawler, the more difficult the opponents you’ll face. This system isn’t exactly perfect and Supercell is working on solutions that help make the matchmaking more even. During global launch, the company will also remedy the issue of more than one of the same kind of brawler showing up on a team that is randomly put together, making matching fairer.
New Game Modes And Characters May Be Coming - the company shared that a lot of other game modes are being tested currently and some new ones may show up in the global launch. No specifics were given though. More characters are expected to come after the game officially releases as well.
